He nodded as Jeff spoke but quickly added, “I said I don’t have a problem with it! I like watching you immersed in your studies! It doesn’t bother me! Not one bit! And I understand completely…You know, I..don’t mind..” Tony hugged his knees as he choked out more rambling words.

Jeff paused for a moment before he decided to walk over to his long time friend and sit on the bed next to Tony. Lifting his bright green eyes to his friend, Jeff’s expression depicted a mix of emotion until he finally spoke. “You know what, Tony? I think it’s about time I took a break from my studies.”

Tony’s face lit up as he inquired with an overexcited tone in his voice. “Really!? What’re you going to do, then?” The grin on his face was much larger than it should have been, however. It seemed that lately, his moods changed in a snap.

Seeing the reaction he got from Tony, Jeff’s lips tugged upward into a rather pleased smile. “What else to do, Tony?” He asked, looking over to the brunette his smile. “We’re going to hang out.”

Tony’s expression remained as it was. “Oh, well, yes, but…” He noticed his best friend had the same look on his face and sighed. “What’s gotten into you? You’re never this…excited?” He grinned once again, “Oh, well, what do I care? Let’s hang out, then!”

 Tony hesitates for a moment. 

“Jeff? Is that really you?”

Jeff looked up from his book, having had been reading it as he walked into the dorm. “Tony? Where have you been?” 

The brunette sat down on his bed, “I-I don’t know, just walking around.” He twirls his finger in his hair, looking down, “..I was looking for you, but I guess that you were just here the whole time.”

With a small sigh, the blonde closed his book. a thin smile working it’s way to his lips. “Well, either way, it’s good to see you again, Tony.”

“You too. You’ve just been really into your studies lately that I don’t want to bother you, so I’ve just been wandering around..- Ah! Not that I mind! It’s always good to study, right?” He tries to smile back, eyebrows furrowed slightly.

That smile quickly tugged downward into a frown as Jeff pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose. He had been so into his recent research that not only had he disregarded a friend, but his best friend. With a soft sigh, Jeff pulled his gaze away from the brunette. “I’m sorry, Tony. Something came up and you know how I get and…” He let his voice trail, knowing Tony should know by now how he got when something caught his interest. Over the last week alone was nothing but breakthroughs, all of which took the blonde’s attention entirely.
